Hello, I’m Louise Cooper, and I’m thrilled to share my story with you.
Life’s journey often takes unexpected turns, and mine has been no exception. Today, I live in the Surrey Hills with my husband and three children and work as a hypnotherapist. But before finding this fulfilling path, I navigated a career in finance, faced life-altering challenges, and embarked on a transformative journey of self-discovery.
From Finance to Fulfilment
After earning my degree, I spent over 15 years as a broker in London, Mexico, Peru and Chile for Central and South American clients, Often being put into challenging, new environments taught me invaluable negotiation and interpersonal skills, but it also left little room for balance and personal well-being.
A Life-Changing Turning Point
Everything changed after a series of profound life events: The birth of my three children, a cancer diagnosis and a number of personal traumas. These experiences forced me to reassess my priorities and step away from my career to focus on healing and self-care.
In this period of transition, I encountered a range of psychological and physical challenges. I turned to psychodynamic therapy, which offered critical insights into my behaviours and thought patterns. Through the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, I learned meditation techniques that helped me stay present and grounded. I also explored Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). I also completed The Thrive Programme a life psychological training course that equips you with self-awareness, in-depth knowledge of fundamental psychological principles and skills need to flourish in life.
While these methods brought some relief, I still felt there was more to uncover, a deeper change waiting to happen. That’s when I discovered hypnotherapy.
Discovering the Power of Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy was nothing short of transformative for me. Unlike any other approach, it facilitated profound and lasting changes in my mindset and well-being. Inspired, I decided to delve deeper, enrolling in the SICH Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and the Clinical NLP Practitioner Certificate program. Graduating with distinction, I gained the tools and knowledge to help others achieve breakthroughs in their lives.
Through this training, I discovered how hypnosis allows the conscious mind to relax and enables direct access to the subconscious. This process creates a unique opportunity to reframe limiting beliefs and achieve meaningful growth. Unlike traditional therapies, hypnotherapy often delivers impactful results in a shorter timeframe, making it a powerful tool for transformation.
The subconscious mind plays a profound role in shaping our behaviours and decisions. For instance, many of us have experienced arriving at a destination while driving, barely recalling the journey. This illustrates how much of our daily functioning is governed by the subconscious.
However, the subconscious can also harbour outdated or harmful beliefs formed at some stage in your past that affect our present-day behaviours. My work focuses on helping clients access these deeply held beliefs, reframe them, and unlock their full potential. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness clients experience freedom and empowerment through this process.
